Ignite School Islamic Education Department Begins a New Year of Learning, Values & Impact
With the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic year, the Islamic Education Department at Ignite School welcomes students and families to a year focused on learning, character, faith, values, identity, and positive impact.
At Ignite, Islamic Education is viewed as more than a school subject. It is an educational mission that supports the development of students’ character, strengthens Islamic values, reinforces national identity, and connects classroom learning with everyday life. The department is also looking forward to a meaningful partnership between school, family, and students throughout the year.
Building Knowledge, Faith and Purpose
This year, the department’s vision is to help students build a strong connection with the Holy Qur’an, learn from the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, apply Islamic values in their daily lives, take pride in their national identity, serve their school and community, and turn learning into lasting positive impact.
Bassma Volunteer Team: Volunteering Builds Values
The Islamic Education Department has opened pre-registration for the Bassma Volunteer Team 2026–2027. The initiative presents volunteering as more than completing service hours; it is a meaningful educational experience designed to help students become responsible, proactive, collaborative, and positively engaged members of their school and wider community.
Through Bassma, students have the opportunity to develop responsibility, giving, initiative, teamwork, and community-service values. The Bassma Admission Test was scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026, marking the beginning of a new year of meaningful initiatives and positive impact.
Rattel Qur’an Competition: Growing with the Qur’an
The department has also begun preparations for the new edition of the Rattel Qur’an Competition. The annual competition aims to deepen students’ connection with the Holy Qur’an and encourage growth in memorization, recitation, Tajweed, and positive competition.
Students are encouraged to prepare with dedication and enthusiasm, with the department emphasizing that every step taken with the Book of Allah is an achievement worthy of celebration. The registration link will be shared by the department when available.
A New Islamic Education Notebook
One of the key developments this academic year is the launch of the new and enhanced Islamic Education Notebook. Designed as an essential learning tool for classroom lessons, the notebook supports students through structured activities, thinking and reflection questions, real-life applications, and ongoing documentation of their learning and progress.
Rather than functioning as a traditional exercise book, the notebook serves as a mini learning portfolio. It captures students’ activities, reflections, applications, teacher feedback, and evidence of growth throughout the academic year.
Interactive Seerah Learning
The new notebook also introduces an interactive approach to learning the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. It includes content covering important events, milestones, and expeditions from his noble life, supported by QR codes that give students access to selected audio content.
This approach allows students to explore the Seerah in a more accessible and engaging format and encourages them to continue learning both inside and outside the classroom, deepening their understanding of the Prophet’s life, values, and legacy.
Supporting the Learning Journey Together
Parents play an important role in helping students benefit fully from the new Islamic Education Notebook. Families are encouraged to ensure that notebooks are properly covered, kept in good condition, and brought to every Islamic Education lesson.
Because the notebook functions as a learning portfolio, it provides students, teachers, and parents with an ongoing view of the learning journey and student development throughout the year. This creates a stronger three-way partnership between school, family, and students.
Learn. Live. Serve. Make an Impact.
Through its programmes, resources, and student initiatives, the Islamic Education Department aims to help students carry knowledge, faith, and purpose into every aspect of their lives. From connecting with the Qur’an and learning from the Seerah to serving the school and wider community, the department is committed to turning learning into positive and lasting impact.
As the new academic year begins, Ignite School looks forward to working together with students and families to create a year filled with knowledge, achievement, strong values, and meaningful contribution.
