Ms. Nahrin Chowdhury brings over 20 years of experience in teaching, educational leadership, and school improvement across New York, Los Angeles, and Dubai. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, academic director, and district leader, leading large-scale school transformation through high-quality teaching and learning, leadership coaching, and data-informed systems that have resulted in measurable gains in student achievement.
Ms. Nahrin is committed to creating an inclusive school community where educators thrive and every child is inspired to reach their full potential. She believes the early years lay the foundation for lifelong learning and that children learn best through joyful, innovative, and purposeful opportunities that nurture the whole child. Her approach combines high expectations with curiosity, creativity, and authentic real-world learning, helping children develop the confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills needed to become lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.
Ms. Nahrin holds master’s degrees in School Building and District Leadership from Hunter College and Mathematics Education and Teaching from St. John’s University. She is certified by the New York State Education Department as a School District Leader (SDL), School Building Leader (SBL), and Mathematics Teacher. She is dedicated to partnering with families at Ignite School and creating learning opportunities that promote academic excellence, connect to children’s interests, backgrounds, and cultures, and ensure every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn every day.
