The Importance of Kindergarten

What is Kindergarten?

Kindergarten has a German origin that means garden for children. Ignite School’s Kindergarten Kick Start program is designed for children that have not attended nursery, new to Ignite School or just new to school in general that will be age 4 before August 31. Kick Start allows children the experience of transitioning from home to the big school environment. This environment plays a major role in developing their motor skills, social skills, and prepares them for Kindergarten at Ignite School. Though, the thought of letting your child away from you for the first time can be unpleasant but the learning experience Ignite’s Kindergarten enrich the learning skills of your child in many ways.

Choosing the right Kindergarten school also plays an important role as the elements can highly differ from school to school. We are sure you want to give your little one the best learning experience. Kindergarten is the first steppingstone in your child’s education. Kindergarten Kick Start allows you and your child the opportunity to experience what Ignite School will be like, and we are certain you will decide it will be the right fit for you and your family. It is a personal and big decision and to ensure you make the best choice, you want to ensure your child is in a loving and caring environment. Our American teachers provide a safe and confident learning environment with teaching techniques that not only enlightens the little ones but makes their learning experience an exciting journey!

Importance of Kindergarten Learning for Children

Many people still debate on the importance of early education like Kindergarten. Ignite School’s Kindergarten program is based on learning experiences through fun, hands-on activities. Children are naturally curious about their surroundings, and the education structure at Ignite School focuses on teachings that introduce students to new ideas and provides them with the opportunity to actively learn and explore. We not only introduce educational curriculum, but our students are able to apply their learning through play and understand how it applies to real life.

Here are some ways in which Ignite’s Kindergarten School helps in the overall development of your child.

Basic Literacy and Numeracy Skills

Kindergarten is far more than just letters and numbers; however, literacy and numeracy skills are an important foundation for education. Through fun activities like drawing, writing, and listening to stories, children learn these skills.  Learning these skills at an early age leads to a greater academic success in future.

They are introduced to basic numbers, shapes, and words that help them grow as a learner. Our Ignite Kindergarten students are offered these basics along with Arabic, Islamic, Science, PE and Library.

Emotional Resilience

Another important part of Kindergarten is the opportunity it presents for children to develop their social skills. Here at Ignite School we focus on the comfort and confidence that our little learners need to begin building relationships with other students. We offer our Kindergarten Kick Start program that enables students to acclimate to their new school before they even begin! Adapting to habits and routines, taking turns, verbally expressing needs and ideas, and most importantly becoming independent are all key parts we exemplify in our Kindergarten program here at Ignite. Students who attend Kindergarten are known to be more emotionally resilient as they are exposed to understand the emotions of other students.

Love for Learning

Ignite School’s Kindergarten program enables little learners the social and cognitive skills that develop through our play infused curriculum. Ensuring our students feel comfortable, are happy and are confident enables a positive learning environment that makes students want to come to school! Our students develop a positive attitude towards learning when they are introduced to new ideas through fun and playful activities. Ignite School Kindergarten classrooms are set up with a variety of play-based learning centers, outdoor Kindergarten playground, Sustainable Garden, indoor play room, gymnasium, Science Lab and many other learning spaces that are all an expansion of the classroom. Combined, this helps Ignite Kindergarten students settle in Elementary School in a better way with confidence.

Apart from these positive impacts, students at Ignite School also develop good habits in their daily routine through the learning they receive in Kindergarten. They become independent and feel confident through their daily lessons. From waking routinely, brushing their teeth to washing hands properly, they start taking charge of daily activities that make them more responsible. A structured environment like Kindergarten helps them get into a good routine and makes life easier for both children and parents as they learn how to cooperate in different situations and be calm.
