6.Fee default

Ignite School operates a fee default practice in accordance with the KHDA regulations.

a. Ignite School staff will not discuss with or directly involve children in fee default practices.

b. If school fees are not paid within one week of the due date, the school will send the 1st School Fee Reminder Letter (by email & hard copy). Up to 2 additional reminders (Email and Hard Copy) will be sent out within a 30-day period or until the outstanding fee for the term is cleared. A phone call, from the Director, will be made to parents before escalating a Fee Reminder to a Fee Warning.

c. If after 30 days, the fee has not been paid, a final School Fee Default Warning will be issued and payable immediately. If parents have still not cleared their dues, the school will not issue the concerned student his or her progress report or report card. The school director will make every effort to contact parents by phone before withholding progress reports or report cards.

d. If dues remain outstanding 10 working days after holding the release of progress reports, then the school may refer the issue to the KHDA. Parents (and their children) will receive official documents once all school accounts have been financially cleared.

e. For parents electing the Term payment option, two instances of fee default during the academic year may result in the Term payment option being withdrawn for the following academic year.

f. Per KHDA Ignite School reserves the right to not re-enroll students for the following academic year when fees are repeatedly not paid on time. Re-enrollment for continuing students will not be accepted unless all outstanding dues have been paid in full.

g. Parents who enter into a written agreement with Ignite School to undertake a term payment plan and then have trouble in making the payments are to contact the Ignite School Accounts Office to discuss options prior to the due date.

7. Tuition fee refund procedure

For students who are withdrawn from the school during the academic year, fee deduction will be applied as per the KHDA Schools Fees Framework quoted below:

– If the student attends school for two weeks or less, one month’s fee will be deducted.

– If the student attends school for a period ranging between two weeks and one month, two months’ fees will be deducted.

– If the student attends for more than a month, three months’ fees will be deducted.

The school reserves the right to not re-enroll students for the following academic year when fees are repeatedly not paid on time. This will be documented by the school through the issuance of dated warning letters.

The school also reserves the right to not issue the concerned student his or her progress report(s) and to refer the issue to the KHDA.

The value of the fee per month is calculated by dividing the annual tuition fee by ten. Parents wishing to withdraw their child from the school are to submit written notification to the Admission’s Office of the withdrawal at least 30 days prior to the last day.

8. Parent-school contract

As part of the admissions process for both new admissions and re-enrollments, Ignite School will generate a contract for parents to agree and sign at the beginning of each school year. Ignite School will be able to complete the signing of the parent-school contract online. The six-step parent-school contract process is illustrated on the KHDA website for parents.
